Agnes M. Souders

Agnes M. Souders, 93, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Conestoga View, Lancaster.  She was born December 30, 1922 in Myerstown to the late Raymond and Sue (Hartman) Souders.

A 1954 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, Agnes received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  She went on to teach for 38 years in Lebanon and Dauphin Counties, retiring from Milton Hershey School in 1986.  She was also a longtime and proud member of First United Methodist Church, Palmyra, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, as well as having served on many committees over the years.

Agnes is survived by a brother, Ralph Souders of Iowa, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family and caring friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 13, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 520 East Birch Street, Palmyra, PA  17078 with the Rev. Dr. David P. Harris officiating.  There will be a viewing held at the church from 10 AM until the time of the services on Friday.  Private interment will be in Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Myerstown.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA  17078, 717-838-9211.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Agnes’s honor to First United Methodist Church at the address listed above or to Lebanon Christian Ministries Food Bank, 250 South 7th Street, Lebanon, PA  17042.
