Caroline Helen (Deck) Speck

Caroline Helen (Deck) Speck, 83, of Hummelstown, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Frey Village, Middletown. Born in Annville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Derr) Deck. She was married for 61 years to Edwin Lloyd Speck of Frey Village, Middletown.

Caroline was a longtime member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Grantville. She enjoyed making quilts, sewing and baking, especially for the church and the Grantville Fire Company. She was an avid fan of the Green bay Packers and Hershey Bears.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Dennis J. Speck, Sr. and his wife Karolynne, of Hummelstown; two grandchildren: Dennis J. Speck, Jr. (Emily) of Lebanon and Denelle N. Speck of Thompsontown; four great grandchildren: Brayden, Talon, Shelby and Nichole, and a brother Robert Deck of Hummelstown.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville at 10:00 AM. Viewing will be in the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, PO Box 130, Grantville, PA 17028.
