Edeltraud “Trudy” Josefa (Gindorf) Brinser, 67, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Born in Reitscheid, Germany she was the daughter of the late Anton W. and Anna Maria (Schmitt) Gindorf.
Trudy moved from Germany to the United States when she was 22 years old. She worked at H.B. Reese Candy Company from 1972 until her retirement in 2010. After retirement she went on to work at The Church of the Holy Spirit in Palmyra where she was also a member. In her free time she loved crocheting, spending time with family and friends, and being with her dog, Harley. Trudy took great pride in her yard and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She loved taking the time to nurture the beautiful flowers that grew in her garden. St. Patrick’s Day celebrations were always special, as it also happened to be her birthday. She’d throw on some green and it felt like the whole world was celebrating her special day. Trudy will be remembered as a caring woman who could make friends with anyone and was always willing to lend her ear to those in need.
She is survived by her two children: Vicky R. Camerot (Jack E.), and Joshua J. Brinser (Alicia M.) both of Palmyra; three grandchildren: Kyleigh M. Camerot, Hunter C. Camerot, and Wyatt S. Brinser; eight siblings: Marianne Steiner, Elisabeth Bintriem, Antonia Whaley, Helen Gilder, Reinfried Gindorf, Helmut Gindorf, Monika Richotte, and Silvia Gardner. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Edda Klingler and Gertrud Short.
Friends and relatives are invited to a viewing from 6-8PM on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Father James F. Podlesny, OSB officiating. A viewing will be held at the church from 10-11AM prior to the service.
