Edward Joseph Rogowicz, of Hershey, passed away on October 22, 2019. Born April 25, 1934 in Glen Lyon, PA, he was the son of Edward and Celia (Dutch) Rogowicz.
He served in the US Army and graduated from Millersville University. Edward was a teacher in the Cumberland Valley and West Shore School Districts for 36 years. He was active in statewide industrial arts and vocational education organizations. For 40 years he led the boys’ club at Neighborhood Center in Harrisburg. Edward was a member and then chairman of the Dauphin County Board of Assistance, a member of the Optimist Club, and a volunteer with People Mover of Derry Township.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Jeannine (Mentzer) Rogowicz; a sister Arline Kobal; a sister-in-law Carole Rogowicz; and seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Josephine Peterfreund and Laura Sherin; and a brother Joseph Rogowicz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 300 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. Visitation will be held from 9-10:30AM prior to the service. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Memorial donations may be made to his church at the address above.
