Fred Eshelman Haldeman

Fred Eshelman Haldeman, 79, of Englishtown, NJ, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.  He was born Sunday, August 18, 1935 in Lancaster to the late Phares G. and Ada (Eshelman) Haldeman.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Lenora Jane (Shenk) Haldeman. 

Fred proudly served in the United States Army.  He enjoyed staying active lumberjacking and cycling.  He was a history buff and an avid reader.  Most importantly Fred was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. 

He is survived by 2 daughters, Debra Smith and husband Lonnie of Hopatcong, NJ and Beth Haldeman of Marlboro, NJ; 4 sons, Jonathan Haldeman and wife Maureen of Little Silver, NJ, Jason Haldeman of Marlboro, NJ, Joel Haldeman of Hershey, and Byrne Haldeman and wife Jacqueline of Brick, NJ; a grandson, Jonathan Haldeman; and 4 siblings, Judith Andreica of Grants, NM, Gern Haldeman of Hummelstown, John Haldeman of Manheim, and William Haldeman of Hershey.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 29th at 10 AM at West Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 740 Greentree Rd., Elizabethtown 17022 with Pastor Mick Allen officiating.  Burial will follow in West Green Tree Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited for viewing on Sunday, June 28th from 4-6 PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 and at the church on Monday from 9 AM until time of the service. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Church of the Brethren, General Offices, 1451 Dundee Ave., Elgin, IL 60120.
