George C. Wise

George Charles Wise, 83, of Hummelstown, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 surrounded by his family at Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg. Born in Hummelstown, he was the son of the late George H. and Grace I. (Kline) Wise.  His wife of 61 years, Kathryn D. (Byers) Wise will miss him dearly.

George worked as a self-employed contractor. He was a member of the local carpenters union. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, hunting, participating in local car races, and following the Hershey Bears. In his younger years he played for the Hershey Junior Bears.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Cindy L. Stone (Wayne E.) of Lawn, Ronald R. Wise (Cindy I.) of Hummelstown, and Randy R. Wise (Robin C.) of Palmyra; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and four siblings: William Wise (Ruth) of Palmyra, Clifford E. Wise of Texas, Larry M. Wise of Allentown, and Vicky B. Yuengling (Frank) of Harrisburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Zimmerman.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 12-1:30PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. Following the viewing time, a committal service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at 2:30PM.
