Kyle "Jersey" H. Myers

 Kyle “Jersey” Hammond Myers, 80, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, January 2nd at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born Wednesday, May 24, 1933 in Elkins, WV to the late Raymond W. and Iva L. (Osborne) Myers. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy L. (Lehman) Myers.

He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1951 and continued his education at Hershey Junior College; graduating in 1953. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army. Kyle retired from IBM where he was employed for 33 ½ years. He was a faithful member of Campbelltown United Methodist Church, a former member of Sulphur Spring Camp and a former member of Hershey Snowmobile Association. Kyle excelled in sports and in 2003 was inducted into the Palmyra High School Sports Hall of Fame, he also coached Palmyra Babe Ruth Baseball for 8 years. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Susan Hinkle and husband Clair of Palmyra; a grandson, Matthew Hinkle of Palmyra; 2 brothers, Donald Myers and wife Verna of Annville and Michael Myers and wife Kathy of CT; and 2 sisters, Gloria Sawyer of TN and Beverly Lachat and husband Charles of Antes Fort, PA.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 7th at 10 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 with Rev. Denise M. Founds officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. Family and friends are invited to Rothermel Funeral Home for viewing on Monday, January 6th from 6 to 8 PM and on Tuesday from 9 AM until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Campbelltown United Methodist Church, 2760 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown 17010.
