Louise Grove Bell

Louise Grove Bell, 92, of Palmyra, passed on to be with Christ on Friday, September 09, 2016 at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra. She was born, Monday, June 9, 1924 in Centre County to the late Franklin C. and Polly C. (Hall) Grove. She is preceded by her loving husband of 64 years, Marlin Shaffer Bell. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She graduated from the Bellefonte High School and worked for the Hershey Chocolate Company. She was a stay-at-home mother raising her three children and helping raise many others.    She was a lifelong member of Campbelltown Evangelical United Brethren / United Methodist Church. She enjoyed Christian fellowship, Bible study, and activities with the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home. She and Marlin traveled the continental US, Hawaii, Alaska and Europe. She loved gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, meeting people, and spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Marvin and wife Sharon and Kermit and wife Debra of Palmyra; a daughter, Hazel Early of Palmyra; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, Kathryn Gomes, Kristen Teaman, Carrie and Julie Early; eight great grandchildren, Jordan Harris, Joseph Bankey, Joseph Gomes, Conrad Bell, Jean Louise Bell, Amelia Gomes, Lorelai Deppen, Mckenzie Bankey.  She was predeceased by five brothers, Edgar, Harry, Russel, Walter, Kermit, Elwood; two sisters, Nellie Hand and Sarah Ford.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 14th at 10 AM at the DiMatteo Worship Center at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, 1200 Grubb Rd., Palmyra with Pastor Tom Barnett officiating.  Burial will follow in Salem UCC Cemetery, Campbelltown.  Friends and family are invited for viewing on Tuesday, September 13th from 6-8 PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 and on Wednesday at the DiMatteo Worship Center from 9 AM until time of the service.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Campbelltown United Methodist Church, 2760 Horseshoe Pike, Palmyra, PA 17078.
