Mary Jane (Donovan) Duignan

Mary Jane (Donovan) Duignan, 81, of Hershey, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in Cedar Haven Nursing Home.  She was born Wednesday, June 5, 1935 in New York City, NY to the late John and Mary (McDonnell) Donovan. 

Mary Jane worked for Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator for a number of years.  She was a long term and faithful volunteer at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.  She also was employed in her later years as an independent home health aid.  She enjoyed reading and was an avid walker.  

She is survived by 3 children, John “Jack” Duignan, Anne Lavin and husband Tom, and Patricia Best and husband Ryan; 6 grandsons, Tommy Lavin, Michael Shank, Hayden Best, and Sean, Ryan, and Luke Duignan; 4 great-grandsons, Connor, Aidan, Brendan, and Colin; a brother John Donovan; a sister, Pat Simonutti; and a faithful k9 companion, Remi.  She was predeceased by a sister Irene Jandoli. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11 AM at The Church of The Holy Spirit, 245 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 with Father James Podlesny as celebrant.  Burial will follow mass in the Hershey Cemetery.    Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078.
