Mildred F. (Wentling) Kreider of Palmyra, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Columbia Cottage. Born Monday, November 24, 1919 in Ono, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley A. and Barbara Ann (Harbaugh) Wentling. She was married 35 years to F. Robert Kreider who passed away in May 1976.
Till, as she was known, was a 1937 graduate of Palmyra High School. She and her husband operated S.A. Wentling Sporting Goods until her retirement. Earlier she was employed at Fort Indiantown Gap during WWII and also briefly by Hershey Entertainment. Till was passionate about Golf. She was a longtime member of Hershey Country Club and was proud to be a club champion, as well as volunteering for numerous club events. In later years she resided in Florida continuing her love of golf and remained active into her early 90’s. Till was a very independent woman who enjoyed telling you how healthy she was.
She is survived by a daughter Judith K. Kovach and husband Vaughn of Palmyra; a son Robert F. Kreider and wife Amy of Landisville; four grandchildren: Kelly Kovach, Jennifer Poust, Robert Kreider and Michael Kreider; five great grandchildren; a sister Vera Hazen and a brother Stanley Wentling.
Till was predeceased by an infant son and five siblings.
A celebration of Till’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Palmyra.
