Paul Luther McCorkle

Paul Luther McCorkle, 93, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center. Born August 9, 1923 in Hershey, he was the son of the late Harvey and Ada (Smith) McCorkle. He was married 58 years to Jean (Behmer) McCorkle who passed in February 2008.

A 1943 graduate of Hershey High School, Paul was retired from the VA Medical Center in Lebanon where he was a surgical technician for 40 years. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion. Paul loved the outdoors, hunting and gardening, but most enjoyed spending time with his family.

Paul is survived by four daughters: Mary Jean (Douglas) McHenry, Dalmatia; Judy M. (Lee) Stern, Pittsburgh; Nancy A. McCorkle, Lebanon and Ellen M. (Alan) Warner, Fleetwood; ten grandchildren: Jeannie Grejda, Amy Trefny, Paul Deimler, Hilarie Mazur, Alex Stern, Christopher Warner, Jessica Mountz, Andrew Warner, Katie Maloney and Allison Warner; nine great grandchildren: Jamie Grejda, Connor Waite, Jesse Waite, Billy Waite, Jerry Mallett, Ben Mallett, Anna Trefny, Kaylee Trefny and Eleanor Mazur: a brother: James H. McCorkle, Hershey; four sisters: Anna Schaeffer (Paul), Hershey; Mabel Deppen, Elizabethtown; Jeanette Vozella, Hershey and Janice Trimble (Howard), Hershey; and will be lovingly missed by his companion puppy, Chloe.

He was predeceased by six brothers: John, David, Simon, Howard, Joseph and Alvin and two sisters: Martha Meyerhoffer and Carrie Heisey.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Fontana Christian Fellowship Church, 44 Fontana Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042 at 6:00 PM. Viewing will be from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Interment and Military Honors will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Broadview Cemetery, 140 East Governor Road, Hershey at 12:00 PM.
