Richard W. Leininger

Richard W. Leininger, 82, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully with family by his side, on Friday, February 17, 2017 at home. Born Wednesday, April 25, 1934 in Reinholds, he was the son of the late Norman and Mae (Wenger) Leininger. He was married 55 years to Orpha W. (Brandt) Leininger who passed away in March 2011.

Richard was first and foremost a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and father in law. He loved God’s word as well as farming which was his passion his whole life. He enjoyed southern gospel music and played the harmonica.

He is survived by daughters: Gwendolyn Gingrich wife of Elvin of Lebanon; Denise Kinley wife of David of Hershey; sons Dwayne K. Leininger and wife Gail of Middletown and Darryl L. Leininger of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; a sister Esther Bollinger; three brothers: Norman Leininger, Jr., Stanley Leininger and wife Kathy, and Glenn Leininger and wife Fay.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Conewago Church of the Brethren, 7035 Schoolhouse Road, Hershey, PA 17033 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Shenks Community Cemetery, Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice for All Seasons, 2805 South Hill Road, Granville, PA 17028.
