Robert H. Gingrich, Jr.

Robert H. Gingrich, Jr., 62, of Mount Gretna, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 2, 2015. He was the son of Robert H. Gingrich, Sr., of Palmyra, and the late Mary E. (Funck) Gingrich. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Joanne P. (Hannigan) Gingrich.

Bob was a U.S. Army veteran and a Mount Gretna volunteer fireman.  He also worked for many years at the Lebanon County Prison and with Coca-Cola. In retirement, he enjoyed a second career serving the community at the Post Office.

He was a hard worker who brought many smiles to his family and friends with his humorous character.

Bob is also survived by two sons: Lt. Col. Jason N. Gingrich, USAF and wife Stacey, of Middletown, RI; and Jonathan M. Gingrich and wife Kaitlyn, of Ephrata; two grandsons: Jason N. Gingrich, Jr., John D. Gingrich, and a baby granddaughter on the way; brother Jim F. Gingrich of Palmyra; and numerous extended family members.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Mount Gretna United Methodist Church, 4th St., Mount Gretna, PA 17064, with the Reverend Michael Remel officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-7PM prior to the service. Interment will be at 10AM on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.
