Russell Eugene Eyer

Russell Eugene Eyer, 47, of Palmyra, died on Monday, November 23, 2015 at his home suddenly due to complications of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. Born in Camphill, he was the son of Charles R. and Donna C. (Waltz) Eyer.

Russell worked as an electrician apprentice for the Electrical Union while he was still able to work. He was an avid gun collector, History Channel buff, enjoyed going to flea markets, and was an outdoorsman. In his younger years he was a proud Eagle Scout. Russell had a close relationship with his Father. He was also an animal lover, who especially loved the family dogs, Misty and Summer. Russell will be missed by his many friends.

In addition to his parents, Russell is survived by two sisters: Saundra D. Siefring, wife of Francis P. III of Annville, and Sherry D. Lemon of Harrisburg; three nephews: Aaron Eugene Funck, U.S. Air Force, Italy, Christopher Brian Siefring of Utah, and Jacob Robert Lemon of Annville; a niece Kati Marie Lemon of Harrisburg; two aunts: Joyce Ash, wife of Leroy of Harrisburg, and Theresa Farlow, wife of Troy, and children of Florida; maternal grandmother Mary N. Waltz of Belleville; and numerous cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his nephew Jeffrey Scott Siefring, maternal grandfather Donald Waltz, and paternal grandmother Margaret Daub.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or to any neurological association of your choice.
