Steven L. Forti

Steven Lee Forti, 61, of Palmyra, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.  He was born December 2, 1955 in Lebanon to the late Roland F., Sr. and Ludmilla Ruth (Trcka) Forti. 

Steve, known as Stevie by his family, will be missed for his infectious laughter, his love of music and history. He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1973.  He attended Harrisburg Community College where he earned several Associate degrees. Known for his musical talent, he played guitar and fiddle in a country band called Southbound for several years. In recent years, Stevie struggled with mental illness but faced life with courage.  He loved his church and religion saw him through difficult times. He attended mass and communion for many years.

Stevie will be missed by his brothers, sisters, and friends. We know he had been serenading his neighbors with his guitar till he passed. We are sure he is playing music in heaven.

He is survived by 4 siblings, Linda Berkheiser, Veronica Mundis, Roland Forti, Jr., and Richard Forti; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, David Forti; and 2 brother-in-laws, Robert Berkheiser and Charles Mundis.   

Services will be held on November 17, 2017 at 11AM at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 300 West Pine Street, Palmyra, Pa. 17078.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 300 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078.
