Wilda (Widdowson) Eberly

Wilda (Widdowson) Eberly, 84, of Palmyra, with winter residence in Lorida, FL,  passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home.  She was born Sunday, February 28, 1932 in Indiana, PA to the late Harry and Ida Myrtle (Henry) Widdowson.  She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne J. Eberly. 

Wilda was a graduate of Indiana High School and graduated from Juniata College with a Bachelors degree in Music Education.  She taught for 25 years: 17 years at Mastersonville Elementary School and 5 years as a music teacher at Penns Valley School District in Centre County.  She was a faithful member of Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren and sang in the Christus Choir.  Wilda enjoyed singing and was a member of the Harmonettes at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home.

She is survived by 2 children, Rebecca Marie Eberly of York and Christopher Wayne Eberly and wife Tina of Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Jason Eberly and wife Danielle, Kalie Esper, and Alex, Jacob, and Leah Eberly; 3 great-grandchildren, Garrett, Holden, and Easton Eberly; and 8 siblings, Wendell Widdowson, Ruth Ankeny, Ruby Cramer, Marjorie Allen, Janet Yuninger, Dale Widdowson, Iris Walter, and Fred Widdowson.  She was predeceased by 3 siblings, Kenneth Widdowson, Kathryn Polder, and Ronald Widdowson. 

A memorial will be held on Sunday, February 19th at 3 PM at the DiMatteo Worship Center at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, 1200 Grubb Rd., Palmyra, PA with Pastor Belita D. Mitchell officiating.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 2 PM until time of the service.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Living Witness Fund of the Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren, 219 Hummel St., Harrisburg 17104 or to the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home Good Samaritan Fund.
