Betty Lou (Thompson) Showers

Betty Lou (Thompson) Showers, 84, of Palmyra, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Colonial Care Center in Harrisburg. Born Friday, March 31, 1933 in Wiconisco, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Edna (Dietrich) Thompson. She was married 66 years to Robert A. Showers also of Palmyra.

Betty Lou was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where she was a supervisor in the Department of General Services. She was a helping hand to those in need and will be missed in body, but never in spirit, by family and friends. She was a member of the Hershey Free Church, where she and Bob worked various levels of children’s education and the establishment of a Sunday school program.

Betty Lou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and is survived by her daughter DeAnn M. Showers of Harrisburg; daughter in law Faith Showers of Palmyra; granddaughter Rachel Searfass (Dave), grandson Jacob Showers (Elaine), and a great granddaughter Julia Searfass. Betty Lou was predeceased by a son David Alan Showers.
