Beverly J. Updyke-Fies

Beverly Jean Updyke-Fies, 70, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2017 in the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence.  She was born Sunday, September 15, 1946 in Cortland, NY to the late John and Delia Vernice (Moose) Updyke.  She was predeceased by her loving husband William Fies. 

Beverly enjoyed playing bingo, the slots, and video poker.  She was an avid shopper, was crafty with her hands and had a love for horses that started in childhood.  Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. 

She is survived by 2 children, Stacey LaPine and husband Bernard and James Lookingbill, Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Ethan and Cole Lentz, Andrew Lookingbill, and Taylor and Jamison LaPine; a brother, Jerry Updyke; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by 2 siblings, John Updyke and Sylvia Knowlton. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2 PM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 1 PM until time of the service.  Burial will follow the services in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, 1701 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg 17110 or to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 115, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
