Esther (Ettie) Keener Miller, 87, resident of Londonderry Village in Palmyra, PA, went home to be with her Lord, the greatest love of her life, on April 28, 2017, in the comfort of her home. Esther was the beloved wife of Richard J. Miller for 68 wonderful years.  Born on October 11, 1929, to Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin and Frances (Baer) Keener of Elizabethtown, she was the youngest of nine children.  Esther leaves one sweet sister, Rhoda Good, of Mount Joy.

Ettie was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, and she now begins her joyous, eternal reward in the presence of her Creator, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by 4 children:  Fred Miller (wife Cathy), Deb Kay (husband George), Doug Miller (wife Darlene) and Beth Mellinger (husband Ken).  She is also leaving 11 enjoyable grandchildren and 33 dearly loved great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

Ettie will be remembered by her sweet smile, enthusiasm, and her deep love for Jesus, family and friends.  She loved singing, serving, homemaking, traveling, working outdoors, and being with children.  Dick and Ettie thoroughly enjoyed serving together in Zambia under Brethren in Christ World Missions for numerous terms between 1990 and 2007.  For many years, Ettie was a member of Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church and served as a volunteer at Londonderry Village.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Esther’s deep love for children, memorial contributions may be sent to Covenant Mercies, a non-profit organization that serves orphans in collaboration with indigenous local churches in the developing world:
