Harrison M. "Red" Landis, Jr.

Harrison M. “Red” Landis Jr, 89, of Palmyra went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 4thsurrounded by his family.

Born on February 23, 1929 in Lancaster to Harrison M., Sr. and Esther Landis. He along with his 6 siblings spent much of their young life working area farms throughout Lancaster, Lebanon and Dauphin counties.  Many times his family would hear the words “I lived on that farm” when taking a drive.

Harrison worked for Hershey Foods for 46 years and never called off sick a day in his life.  He began working at the Hershey Dairy where he met the love of his life Betty and they spent 47 beautiful years together until her passing in 2016.  After his retirement he enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.  A man who just enjoyed the simple pleasures of family, friends and sitting on the back porch.

Harrison is survived by his four children son Michael Cornett husband of Linda, daughter Vicki (Cornett) Wright, son Tim Cornett husband of Jane and daughter Julie (Landis) Keefer wife of Shannon Keefer.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and friends who he loved dearly.

In addition to his wife Betty, Harrison is preceded in death by daughter Patricia (Cornett) Eisenhauer, brothers Omer, Elmer, Harold, Leroy and sisters Pearl and Verna.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Rick Martin officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Hershey Cemetery.
