Kathryn Lucille (Lehman) Grosh of Londonderry Village, Palmyra, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 8, 2017, one day after her 94th birthday.

Born September 7, 1923 in Palmyra, she was the daughter of the late Brandt L. and Anna M. (Goodman) Lehman. She was married to her loving husband Robert Y. Grosh, Sr. for 67 years, until his death on June 23, 2009.

Kathryn (Kas) attended the Palmyra schools and received her diploma in interior decorating from LaSalle University. She worked in the Grosh Furniture store as an interior decorator and sales person until retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Elizabethtown First Church of God since 1943, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 35 years before retiring in 2002. She taught vacation bible school, was an active member of the WCSC and Women of Faith. She was also an active member of the Women’s Christian Club from its inception until the 1970’s. She was also a former 4H leader for girls from Lancaster County and surrounding communities. Her hobbies included reading, crafts, sewing, cooking, card ministry and entertaining. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.                                                                              

She is survived by her son David K. Grosh, husband of Kiffanny, Marietta; five granddaughters: Michelle McSorley, wife of Lt. Col. William D. McSorley, IV,USMC (Ret.) of Virginia; Stacy Angel, wife of Usbaldo of Virginia; Penny Yescavage, wife of Ed of Harrisburg; Amanda Grosh of Lancaster and Rebecca Gardner, wife of Robert of Lancaster; four great grandchildren: Brandon Nixdorf, William D. McSorley,V, Theodore Angel and Grace Angel; two step grandsons: Mason McCoy and David Havice; and three siblings: Earl (Dick) Lehman, Ruth Bucher and Eleanor (Jean) Witmer.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Robert Y. Grosh, husband of Sandra and infant son Larry L. Grosh and six siblings: Marlon Lehman, Sarah Longenecker, Anna Lehman, Pauline Root, Nancy Myers and Betty Hoffman.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Elizabethtown First Church of God, 144 South Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kathryn’s memory to the church.
