Kathryn Anne Kreider, 77, of Palmyra, unexpectedly went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at her home. She was born Saturday, August 10, 1940 in Hershey to the late Herbert H. and Emma (Brubaker) Kreider.
She graduated from Hershey High School in 1958, attended Messiah College and graduated from Greenville College, and the University of Pennsylvania in 1966 with a Masters Degree in social work. For 42 years, her professional life as a social worker was dedicated to serving others. She began working for Lebanon Children & Youth Services, later spending over 30 years with Philhaven Hospital. She was an active member and Deacon at Encounter Church of Palmyra. Her love and dedication was also focused on the Vietnamese orphans of the Vietnam War. Her servant’s heart and warm smile will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Laudermilch and husband John of Annville; two grandchildren, John, Jr. and Lyndsey Laudermilch of Annville; a brother, H. Dale Kreider and wife Joan of Ft. Worth, TX; two sisters, Nancy Hoke and husband William of Mechanicsburg, and Barbara Nissley and husband Gene of Palmyra; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ngoc E. Kreider.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 24th at 11 AM at Encounter Church of Palmyra, 220 Campbelltown Road, Palmyra 17078 with Rev. Terry W. Friesen officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 AM until time of the service at the church. Private burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra.
