Luke Kenneth Kline, 93, of Palmyra, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Lebanon VA Hospital. Born in Palmyra, he was the son of the late Elmer and Sophie (Schlenker) Kline.
Luke was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, where he received a purple heart. He learned to be a carpenter from his father, and he carried this skill with him throughout life. Following his retirement from the Army he was a construction foreman for a structural steel building company and a carpenter for the VA Hospital.
He was a member of the Kaylor Gang, an informal Palmyra social group that began in the 1950’s and maintained friendships until death. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, outdoor sports like hunting, and riding snowmobile.
Survived by: Son Rodney of Palmyra; Son Joel and wife Laura and beloved grandchildren, Rachel, Alexandra and Evan of Palmyra; and a sister, Miriam Bowman of Palmyra.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Samuel Fry officiating. A viewing will be held from 12-1PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
