Martha Jean (Bittner) Dissinger

Martha Jean (Bittner) Dissinger, 97, of Palmyra, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Cedar Haven in Lebanon. Born Thursday, October 30, 1919 in Uniontown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella M. (Beal) Bittner. She was the husband of Clode R. Dissinger who passed away in 2006.

A 1937 graduate of Uniontown High School, Martha was employed as an office manager for Bon Ton for over 30 years, and also worked in the civilian personnel office at Fort Indiantown Gap. She was a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church in Palmyra.

She is survived by a daughter Verna Mae Myers (Donald) of Palmyra; a son Clode R. Dissinger, Jr. (Wendy) Castiac, CA; four grandchildren: Jennifer Arntz, Sherry Mettley, Renee J. Moro-Nasta and Moonyean Dissinger; six great grandchildren, and a sister Doris Lincoln of Dearborn, MI.

In addition to her husband, Martha was predeceased by a son Ronald Lee Dissnger, a grandson Jeffrey Lee Myers and six siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra at 10:30 AM. Viewing will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
