Richard O. “Huggie” Hugendubler, 89, of Hummelstown, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at The Middletown Home. Born in Hershey, he was the son of the late Ralph C. and Bertha (Peters) Hugendubler. He will be lovingly missed by his wife, Darlyn L. (McNeil) Hugendubler, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage with.
Huggie graduated from Hershey High School, class of 1947. He went on to graduate from Hershey Junior College, and Rochester Institute of Technology. He spent 25 years teaching graphic arts at Milton Hershey School. Huggie and his students won awards for the Spartan Magazine and Acropolis yearbook that they published. His love of God and family defined him. He was a longtime member of the Garden Chapel in Middletown, and was a former member of the Hershey Free Church, and the First E.C. Church of Palmyra, where he was on the church board and youth leader. He was also the owner of Huggie’s Print Shop for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Richard G. Hugendubler & wife Lisa of Chambersburg, Steven P. Hugendubler & wife Sharon or Reedsville, and Kenneth N. Hugendubler & wife Lisa of Mechanicsburg, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and brother Jack Hugendubler of Hershey. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Grof) Hugendubler and brother Ralph Hugendubler.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. A viewing will be held from 10-11AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hershey Cemetery.
