Ruth M. (Lehman) Bucher

Ruth M. Bucher, 89, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.  She was born Saturday, November 30, 1929 to the late Brandt and Anna (Goodman) Lehman.  She is predeceased by her loving husband since September 4, 2016 Paul R. Bucher.

Ruth attended Palmyra high school and went on to own the Bucher Delicatessen in Palmyra for over 33 years.  She also taught Sunday school for about 18 years and retired in 1989.  She was baptized November 2, 1944 at the Palmyra Church of the Brethren where she was also married February 23, 1947.

She is survived by her children: Fred and wife Nancy of Palmyra, and Brenda Bucher and husband Russell of S. Annville Twp.; grandchildren, Christine M. Seabrook (Matt) of Maple Glen, PA, Eric R. Bucher (Jennifer) of Annville, Jonathan Bucher (Laura) of Kenmore, WA, and Brian Bucher (Holly) of Delaware, OH; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and sister E. Jean Witmer of Palmyra.  She is predeceased by 2 brothers and 6 sisters

Memorial service will be held Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11AM at the Dimatteo Worship Center at the Londonderry Village, 1200 Grubb St., Palmyra, PA 18078 with Pastor Bill Cave officiating. A visitation will be held from 10AM until the start of the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Londonderry Village, Good Samaritan Fund, 1200 Grubb Rd., Palmyra, PA 17078.
