Reverend Surujnauth Surujpaul, 70, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, surrounded by his family at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Guyana, South America, he was the son of the late “Oil-Man” and Latchmin Surujpaul. He was widowed in August by his wife of 50 years, Ramdai “Sheila” Surujpaul.
Surujnauth held a diploma in theology from Bethel Bible College in Jamaica. He lived the life of an apostle, and was a spiritual father figure to many. He taught many pastors, and physically built and started numerous churches in Guyana. With his wife Sheila, they founded an orphanage called Bless The Children Home. Surujnauth and his family moved to America in 1990 where he continued to pastor at Modena and Ephrata Church of God. He published a book titled “Some Things That Please God”. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, piano, and singing.
He is survived by his four children: Fiona Pyszka (Doug), Grace Itwaru (Shamgar), Ronald Surujpaul & Natasha Mahabir (Andrew), four grandchildren, three sisters, Rene, Indra, Lillie and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 6 siblings.
A Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 2pm-3pm at Victory Christian Fellowship, 695 E. Ridge Rd., Palmyra, PA 17078. A Funeral Service will follow beginning at 3pm with her son-in-law Pastor Douglas J. Pyszka officiating. Burial will be at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
