Edward Bosha, Jr., 97, of Palmyra, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Londonderry Village, Palmyra. He was born Friday, January 11, 1924 in Slatington, PA, to the late Edward, Sr. and Gertrude (Grammes) Bosha. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly (Williams) Bosha.
He graduated in 1942 from James M. Coughlin High School and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII earning the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal. He was a Mason and a member of Landmark Lodge No. 442 F&AM of PA. He was also a longtime member of Parsons Primitive Methodist Church. He worked for Central Railroad of NJ, retiring as a traveling freight agent. He and his wife served as house parents at the Milton Hershey School for several years. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, all facets of history, woodworking and was a gifted tradesman with many technical talents and was a gifted storyteller. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by a son, Duane J. Mohr of Hollidaysburg; two daughters, Lynn Cimera, (husband, John) Algonquin, IL and Gail Ponti (husband, Joseph, Jr.) of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Veronica Ponti of Manassas, VA and Cailey Cimera of Algonquin, IL; a sister, Elaine Golembiewski of Harrisburg and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Eugene and his sister Mary.
Burial with full military honors will take place on Monday, February 15th at 9 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A celebration of life will be held following the burial at 11:30 AM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Chaplain Mary Eller officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10:30 AM until time of the service at the funeral home.
