Emily Jane (Cobaugh) Miller

Emily Jane “Janie” (Cobaugh) Miller, 86, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.  Born Thursday, December 12, 1935, in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Ernest S. and Mary (Peoples) Cobaugh.

Jane grew up in Elizabethtown and graduated from EAHS in 1953.  She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Masonic Homes as well as Newcomer Oil Corporation, Elizabethtown and retired from AMP Inc., Harrisburg, in 1998. After retiring from AMP, she worked for several years at Pitney Bowes Management Services. 

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #407, Elizabethtown as well as a member of Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, taking care of her home, and caring for her beloved English Cocker Spaniels, Maggie and Lacy.  She loved spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.  Jane also enjoyed traveling, camping, country music, attending musical shows in New York City and Lancaster County and hearing her only brother, Charles, sing at various locations.  She also had fond memories of her parents taking her and her brother on road trips and out for ice cream when they were younger.

She is survived by three children: Wendy S. Basehore, married to George, of Arizona, Lori L. Miller, of Elizabethtown, and Jeff L. Miller, married to Chris, of Enola.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Melvin Cobaugh, married to Shirley, of Elizabethtown, as well as Jane’s extended family and caring friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.  Burial will follow in Goods Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabethtown.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday.
