Geraldine (Waters) White

Geraldine (Waters) White, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2023, at her home in Columbia.  Born Friday, January 20, 1939, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Albert Waters and Viola (McCowin) Gentry.  She was married to Hermon White until his death on Monday, September 10, 2018.

Mrs. White was a registered nurse for most of her career being last employed at Susquehanna Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Columbia. 

She is survived by four children: Hermon S. White, of Columbia, Allan M. White, of Lancaster, Brian L. White, of Columbia, and Adrian M. White, husband of Heather, of Columbia, as well as 8 grandchildren: Jordan, Bridget, Treyvon, Noah, Bryce, Julian, D’Michael, Reider, and 7great grandchildren.  Also surviving are siblings as well as Geraldine’s extended family and caring friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Paula and Carla White and a son, Charles R. Shank.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Bethel AME Church, 128 West Fairview Avenue, Marietta, PA  17547.   Fellowship will follow at the church after the memorial service. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Marietta Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA  17547, 717-426-3614.
