Helen L. (Barchesky) Wineland

Helen L. (Barchesky) Wineland, 82, of Millersville, and formerly of Latrobe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital.  Born Tuesday, November 28, 1939, in Latrobe, she was the daughter of Felix and Annabel (Morrison) Barchesky.  She was married to Frank B. Wineland until his death in 1999.

A homemaker for most of her life, Helen was also an active member of Millersville Community Church.  Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She will be lovingly missed by three children: Jacqueline Celestine,OD, married to Gerald, of Harrisonville, PA, Jeffrey L. Wineland, married to Laura, of Herndon, VA, and Jill W. Hamill, married to Jason, of Millersville, PA .   Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Jeremy Celestine, MD, married to Theresa, Sarah O'Bleness, married to Byron, Elizabeth Wineland, Katherine Etonyeaku, married to Iyke, Peter Hamill, Katherine Hamill, Jina Pounds and Joseph Pounds.  Helen is survived by three great grandchildren:  Alexander Celestine,  Annabelle Celestine and Isaac Etonyeaku, as well as Helen’s extended family and caring friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James R. Pounds. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Millersville Community Church, 163 West Frederick Street, Millersville, PA  17551, with Pastor Kerry Leeper officiating.  A viewing will be held at the church from 1 PM until the time of the service on Thursday. 

A Committal Service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, November 4, 2022, in the chapel at Unity Cemetery, 114 Chapel Lane, Latrobe, PA  15650.
