Jane M. (Bard) Shope

Jane M. (Bard) Shope, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Sunday, March 3, 1935 in Rockhill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Charlotte (Pyles) Bard. She was married to Willard R. Shope on July 2, 1955.

In addition to her husband of nearly 65 years, she is survived by three children: Roger K. Shope, of St. Louis, MO, Rhonda K. Shope, of Cleona, and Russell K. Shope, married to Tina (Walters), of Middletown. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Alex White, of Middletown, Sabrina Walters, of Middletown, Shaquan Shope, of Cleona and three great grandchildren: Anthony White, of Harrisburg, Kahliel White and Jayden White, both of Middletown; a brother, Larry Bard and wife, Verdine, of Manor, PA; a sister, Linda (Bard) Doyle, of York; a sister-in-law, Eva Bard, of Mill Creek, as well as Jane’s extended family and caring friends.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Bard.

Jane was an active member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Middletown.  She retired from Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, after 30 years of being a telephone operator.  Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

A Graveside Service will be held at Noon on Monday, June 15, 2020 in Shope Cemetery, Orbisonia, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543.
