Joseph P. Grazan, Jr., 66, of Shermans Dale and formerly of Middletown, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at his home in Carroll Township, Perry County. Born Sunday, June 6, 1954, in Beaver Falls, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph P. Grazan, Sr. and Kathryn L. (O’Neal) Grazan.
Joe loved being with his family and lived to spoil his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included traveling to the beach, attending sporting events, constructing home improvement projects, and dining out with family and friends all the while making new ones along the way. You could always catch Joe strolling joyfully up and down the aisles of his favorite retail establishment: Walmart. He was a member of Local 213 in Harrisburg and IATSE Local 98 in Hershey.
Joe is survived by three daughters: Amanda L. Grazan-Hott, married to Brian; Meegan E. and Kayla M. Grazan, and their mother, Naomi Sherrid, all of Marietta. Also surviving are his fiancée, Barb Reed, and her children: Julie, Adam, and Kellie Reed, all of Shermans Dale; two brothers: Timothy A. Grazan, married to Wendy, of Manheim; and Jeffrey L. Grazan, of Mount Joy; as well as many extended family and friends. Joe was fondly known as “Pappy” to Chase and Morgan Hott of Marietta and as “Baba” to Sydney, Eloise, Merrill, and Soren of Shermans Dale. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Joseph P. “Joey” Grazan, III.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 2, 2020 in Luther Hall at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 121 North Spring Street, Middletown, PA 17057, with the Rev. Dr. J. Richard Eckert officiating. Everyone attending is encouraged to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Burial will follow in Middletown Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday.
