Leonard Charyak Obituary

Leonard Charyak, 82, of Mount Gretna, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 30, 2020 with family by his side.  He was born Saturday, November 6, 1937 to the late Peter and Helen (Horoski) Charyak.  He is survived by his loving wife Karen (Trudel) Charyak.

 

Leonard was a proud veteran serving in the Army, 101st Airborne Division. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s College, Jersey City, NJ where he obtained his B.S. in marketing.  He also was a volunteer firefighter in Ridgefield, NJ, Engine Company 3. 

 

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Gary, Craig, Jeffrey, and Brad Charyak; numerous grandchildren; and a niece Helena Sharpley.  He is predeceased by two sisters.

 

Len enjoyed traveling with family and friends and boats of any kind were his enjoyment.  Road trips were also a passion.

 

 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

 

 

Services will be held Saturday October 3, 2020 at 4pm at the open air with roof Mt. Gretna Tabernacle located at 400 Boehm Ave, Mt. Gretna, PA 17064 with sit down dinner served afterward at the Timbers restaurant located at 350 Timber Rd, Mt. Gretna, PA 17064 also an open air with roof venue. Per Len’s wishes, there is plenty of room for distancing and masks are required to keep everyone safe.
