Lucinda D. (Brown) “Cindy” Myers, 73, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. Born Saturday, January 17, 1948, in Huntingdon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russell Brown and Nellie (Barnett) Brown McDowell. She was married to George F. Myers for over 50 years. George also died on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital.
Cindy enjoyed cross-stitch, attending church, oldies rock and roll, Elvis Presley music and movies, visiting with family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved reading her Bible and was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Cindy was a loving and caring friend and her hugs were amazing. She was employed by STA (Student Transport of America) as a student aide.
She is survived by two children: Russell W. Myers, married to Kelli, of Harrisburg and Kimberly I. Atkins, married to Dan, of Elizabethtown. Also surviving are a brother, Merle Barnett, of Jacksonville NC and a sister, Janice Brown, of Tucson AZ as well as a nephew, Michael Brown, of Cassville, PA, who was raised in the Brown home. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Miranda and Leah Atkins and Jordan and Jarred Myers; 2 great-grandchildren: Aiden Orion and Theodore Matthew as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Brown and a brother, Russell Brown.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Newville Bible Church, 819 Turnpike Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Pastor Ed Eifert officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown. A viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service on Thursday.
