Marcella Jean (Stobert) George

Marcella Jean (Stobert) George, 91, formerly of Palmyra, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at her home in Cary, NC.  Born Friday, July 12, 1929, in Butler, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Della (Risch) Stobert.  She was married to Robert W. “Bob” George for over 43 years until his death on January 15, 1999.

Marcella devoted her life to her family and church, embracing the love and fellowship of friends and parishioners of Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra, where she dedicated much of her time and talent to the church's sewing and quilting circles, of which she fondly reminisced and talked about for many years. Marcella was loved and adored by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.    

She is survived by two children: Leslie K. Cooper, married to Richard, of Apex, NC and Daniel D. George, married to Robin, of Virginia Beach, VA.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as Marcella’s extended family and caring friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in Gravel Hill Cemetery, 54 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra, PA  17078 with Reverend Carl Rabbe officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA  17078, 717-838-9211.
