Mary E. (Gillenwater) Costello

Mary E. (Gillenwater) Costello, 58, of Marietta, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, following a courageous battle with cancer.  Born Monday, April 13, 1964, in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Bobby Ray and Mary E. (Brubaker) Gillenwater.

Mary worked as a dispatcher at Easton Coach Company.  In her free time, she loved to crochet and do diamond paintings.  She also enjoyed anything involving plants but due to health reasons, she could not walk out in her flower bed but instead had little plants inside the house and on windowsills that she would take care of.

She will be lovingly missed by two children:  James P. Costello II, and Krystal A. Gillenwater, engaged to Cody Gainer, all of Marietta.  Also surviving are three grandchildren: Julia Costello, Ray Hoffman IV, and Landon Gainer; four siblings: Donna Renninger, married to Ross, of Washington Boro,, Judy Young, of Mount Joy, Bobby Ray Gillenwater Jr., married to Melissa, of Washington Boro, Henry Gillenwater, of Columbia, as well as Mary’s extended family and many caring friends. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA  17547, 717-426-3614, with Pastor Jonathan D. Bixler officiating. Burial will follow in Maytown Union Cemetery.   A time of viewing and visitation with her family will be held at funeral home from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday
