Mona Murray Obituary

Mona S. Murray, 93, of Masonic Villages in Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2020.  She was under the loving care of the Masonic Village Healthcare Center staff and Masonic Village Hospice staff.  Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Fae Slentz.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and the wife of the late Robert Murray who passed away in 2012 after 64 years of marriage. She is survived by 3 children, Michael S. of Lewisberry, Susan wife of John Stull, Lewisberry and Barbara, wife of Joseph Murphy, Elizabethtown.  Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. 

Mona was a member of the Sell Chapel at Masonic Village and previously a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown.  She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, word puzzles, coloring, camping, and canning summer produce.  She was an excellent cook and loved teaching her grandchildren how to prepare her special meals.  

A private graveside service will be held at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mona’s memory to the Masonic Villages for the  “Helping Hands Fund” and mailed to Masonic Villages, Office of Gift Planning, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.  This is a fund set up to assist Masonic Village staff when they are experiencing personal emergencies or hardship.
