Ruby H. Rineman, 89, of Traditions of Hershey in Palmyra and formerly of Hershey passed away at Hershey Medical Center on Saturday, January 9, 2021 surrounded by her family. Proudly born in Macksville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Calcie (Harman) Huffman. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John F. Rineman in 2001.
Ruby was a 1950 graduate of Hershey High School. She went on to work as a receptionist for Hershey Chocolate before starting a family. She enjoyed playing tennis throughout most of her adult life, being a Hershey Bears fan, going for long walks, and attending all events of her children and grandchildren. Ruby’s greatest accomplishments, by far, were being a wonderful wife, an incredible mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was so proud of her family and was happiest when they were all together.
Ruby is survived by three children: Valerie Williams of Hampton, VA, Timothy (Ruth) Rineman of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Mark (Julia) Rineman of Lutherville, MD; six grandchildren: Felicia, Marci, and Ciara Williams, and Alaina, Claire, and John Rineman; one great granddaughter, Charlotte Ruby; and two sisters, Maxine Betzler and Bonnie Ziegler as well as many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Traditions of Hershey, her home since 2013, for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Palmyra, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 100 W. Main St., Hummelstown, PA 17036 or to Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity, WV at www.almostheavenhabitat.org.
