Steven James Lasher, 33, of Ephrata, passed away unexpectedly of heart failure on Friday, June 4, 2021, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born Thursday, July 16, 1987, in Killeen, Texas, he was the son of Vicky Jo Kingsboro and Ray A. Lasher.
Steven worked as a welder for Ira G. Steffy & Sons, Inc., Ephrata. He enjoyed fishing, pizza, watching movies, having campfires in his backyard, grilling, walks with his kids and working on cars. He was also considered his family’s “MacGyver” by always thinking of how to fix things and make great things out of the ordinary. One time, Steven made his own smoker out of a 50-gallon drum. Steven also enjoyed playing video games, especially Call of Duty with his buddies. He was well liked by many and will be remembered as a great dad, a good friend, funny, quiet and a good man all the way around.
He is survived by his mother, Vicky Jo Kingsboro, of Leola and his father, Ray A. Lasher, of Dixon, MO. Also surviving are his three children: Kayleah M., Brody J. and Wendy G. Lasher, of Ephrata; his fiancée, Jessica A. Muston, of Ephrata; a half-sister, Madison B. Lasher, of Dixon, MO, as well as Steven’s extended family and caring friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Wendy Jo Lasher.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543. Burial will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm and also on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service.
