Warren Lewis, Sr. Obituary

Warren Lewis, Sr. of Palmyra and Elizabethtown died Wednesday, September 8, 2021. He was 81.

Born November 12, 1939 to the late Alvin B. and Ethel Light Lewis, Warren is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 60 years, Margaret “Penny” Lewis. He is also survived by three sons, Warren, Jr. (Terry) of Savannah, Ga., Gregory (Theresa) of Palmyra, and Douglas (Tina) of Palmyra; six grandchildren, Patrick (Molly) of Hershey, Nicholas (Theresa Simaska) of Lebanon, Tyler (Julia Pierce) of Philadelphia, Hannah Lambrou (Peter) of Savannah, Ga., Dillon of Washington, D.C., and Michael of Palmyra; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Levengood of Annville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin B. Lewis, Jr.

Warren was the co-founder of Klick Lewis Chevrolet Buick in Palmyra. He and his business partner George Klick purchased the dealership from the Gingrich family in 1960, and he ran the business for decades before transferring ownership to his sons. After leaving Klick Lewis, he opened Lewis, Bosler, and Associates, where he conducted executive and sales coaching and development. He was a graduate of Culver Military Academy, and attended Palmyra Area High School and Lehigh University. He also served as a member of the Military Police.

Warren was a loving and active husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and mentor. A lifelong Christian, he was at times a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lebanon and the Congregation of Sell Chapel in Elizabethtown. He gave generously of his time, money, knowledge and love to all who needed it. He cared about Central Pennsylvania deeply, and was an ardent promoter and supporter of organizations and projects that continually contribute to the well-being and happiness of the residents of the Lebanon Valley. For years he was active in the Jaycees, and a member of the boards of the Palmyra Borough Zoning Commission and the Valley Trust Company. Most recently, he helped lead the charge to secure funding for several major projects throughout the area, including the recent redevelopment of Fireman’s Park, the Palmyra 250th Anniversary Celebration, and the new Caring Cupboard Food Pantry facility to be built on East Broad Street in Palmyra.

But he was never happier than when he was spending time with his beloved wife, Penny, and their family. He will be most fondly remembered and dearly missed.

The family plans to host a private memorial service with burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. Memorial contributions can be made to The Caring Cupboard, 131 North Railroad Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
