Pauline (Miller) Shimp

Pauline (Miller) Shimp, 90, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services in Lebanon.  She was born Saturday, September 6, 1924 in Campbelltown to the late Earl and Stella (Youtz) Miller.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Cyrus Lester “Nick” Shimp. 

Pauline graduated from Hershey High School Class of 1942.  She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Campbelltown, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #402, a member of NARFE, and a past member of the Palmyra Garden Club.  She retired from the Federal government.  Pauline was a very devoted wife and loved Cyrus dearly.  She was always there for her family, her children and grandchildren were her happiness, than came the great-grandchildren and they too stole her heart.  She enjoyed reading and instilled in her family the importance of reading. 

She is survived by two sons, Richard L. Shimp and wife Carol, and Terry S. Shimp and wife Cathy all of Key West, FL; two grandchildren, Michele Wilson and husband Allen of Lawn, and Jonathan Shimp and wife Amy of Palmyra; four step grandchildren, Jill Good, Mark, Vincent, and Todd Winters; four great grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton, Conner, and Tyler Wilson; two step great grandchildren, Kirsten and Chris Good; and 2 brothers, John Miller of San Diego, CA and Glenn Miller of TN.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Ruth Shimp; a grandson, Brian Shimp; a daughter-in-law, Suzanne McGarvey Shimp; and a brother, Richard Miller. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 3rd at 11 AM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Dwight Hein officiating.  Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Private burial will be private in Cornwall Cemetery, Cornwall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Heart Association, 335 South 8th Street, Suite #3, Lebanon, PA 17042.
