I remember Ruth always smiling at the many family parties Buff and Jack had at their house over the years. She always had a fun story to tell about an adventure she had - usually a cycling trip - or one she was planning. It was so wonderful to hear her talk (and beam) with pride about something Mika or Max accomplished or were doing, and always about Buffy. Mrs. B and my (late) mom were a lot alike in that she and my mom really loved their only daughters, sometimes "too much" it may have felt like to us at times. Buff and I both were very close to our moms and, in many ways, take the best lessons our moms taught us in how we parent our kids. With a lot of patience, joy and love, for sure! I always will see her as a strong and brave woman who lived life on her terms.
